Its hard to believe that I have already been up here for three weeks. Whats even crazier is that this is the longest amount of time that Luke and I have ever spent physically together. Prior to this, the longest time has been two weeks.
So far living together has been a success. It’s not always rainbows and unicorn farts (although there are farts haha) but I feel like we are always learning more about each other and supporting each other. We have both had our fair share of good and bad days thanks to my migraines, Luke’s lumbar puncture headaches, but we help each other through it all.
It’s also hard to believe that it has been two months since Luke was diagnosed. So much has happened since then. Soon Luke will be starting a new drug to try to make him MRD negative before he goes into his stem cell transplant. This should be starting this week. The idea behind this treatment is to improve long term outcomes and reduce the risk of relapse.
We will take this all one day at a time. We will beat this. We have a bright future ahead of us. I can’t wait to spend all my life with my love and create new memories every day.
