Over the last couple of weeks I have spent my time packing up my life and getting rid of things that I don’t need anymore. After three car loads of donations, I finally got my car all loaded up (to the brim) and on Friday my dad and I hit the road heading for Winnipeg.
It took three days and 31 hours in the car but we finally arrived in Winnipeg yesterday afternoon.
Finally getting to move in with Luke and start our life together is something I have been looking forward to for a long time now. After almost 5 years of long distance we have finally reached the finish line (Or at least a mile marker). That doesn’t mean that leaving my home in New England was easy.
I am going to miss my family and my friends terribly. So many people helped get me to where I am today and it is hard to leave that part of my life behind. To anyone I missed saying goodbye to before I left, I’m sorry. I love everyone so much and I hope you will all stay in touch.
I’m currently sitting in a waiting room waiting for Luke to have his central line put in. And while this isn’t exactly how I pictured us spending our first day together, I am so happy to be able to be with him through these hard times as well as the good. That’s what love means, walking through fire together to get to the beach on the other side.
