Ingredients
- Olive oil – 1tbsp
- Ground turkey – 2-2.5 pounds
- Onion – 1 med-large yellow onion
- Green Peppers – 1-2 large
- Dried basil – 1 tbsp (to taste)
- McCormick chili seasoning – 2 packets
- Fresh ground pepper – to taste (start with ½ tsp)
- Ground cayan pepper – to taste (start with ¼ tsp)
- Minced Garlic – 2 tbsp
- Diced tomatoes – 1 28 oz can
- Tomato sauce – 1 28 oz can
- Chic peas – 1 can
- Red or white kidney beans – 1 can total (I do half and half)
- Tomato paste with garlic and oregano – 1 small can

- In a pan, heat olive oil over med-hi heat
- Add garlic, onions, peppers, ground turkey, black pepper, and 1 packet of chili seasoning
- Saute until all turkey is coated then drain the fat
- Add all ingredients to the crock pot and stir to blend flavors
- Except one packet of chili seasoning and the can of tomato paste
- Cook on high for 1 ½ hours
- Stir again and then set on low for 5 – 7 hours
- In last half hour, add tomato paste, 1 packet of chili seasoning, and cayan pepper/ black pepper to taste
- Stir and let cook a half hour without lid
