Meatloaf

Ingredients for Meatloaf

  • Ground beef (or turkey) – about 1 pound
  • Bread – 1 slice per 1/2 pound of meat
  • Egg – 1 per pound of meat
  • Vegetable or onion dry soup packet
  • Chili sauce ~ 2 tbsp
  • Other spices as desired
    • Onion powder
    • Oregano

Ingredients for Sauce

  • Chili Sauce ~ 1 bottle
  • Brown Sugar ~ 1/2 cup
  • Mustard 1 squirt

Instructions for Meatloaf

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  2. In large bowl, combine beef, egg cubed bread, soup packet (dry), and spices/chili sauce
  3. Mix well with hands, then form into a loaf
  4. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes, remove and cover in the sauce.
  5. Place meatloaf back in the oven for about 15 minutes (cooking time varies based on oven temp and loaf size)
  6. Cook to an internal temp of 165 degrees F

Sauce Instructions

  1. Combine the bottle of chili sauce with the brown sugar and squirt of mustard
  2. Heat in microwave (or on stove) for about 15 seconds before covering the meatloaf.
  3. Serve extra sauce on the side
